I went on a solo adventure last week to visit my lovely friend in Melbourne. No kids or husband just little old me!
We drank, ate, shopped and went on a little road trip. It was super fun but I think the highlight was finding some very impressive vintage warehouse's in Mornington. My friend and I were in heaven!
I took a bunch of photo's of one of the places we visited called The Vintage Shed .There was just so much stuff and it was all really well priced I thought. If only I had a Mary Poppins Bag I could have brought home a shop full of goodies!!!

It was truly impressive and we didn't even get time to check out the vintage clothing shed! I'll definitely going back there next time I visit.
I'll post again soon on some of the treasures I got xx

My smallest babe and I participated in a bit school holiday craftiness the other day. It was really lovely to do a class with her because as the second child she's kinda missed out on the endless classes I did with my big babe. Any hoodle I thought I'd share what we got up to.

Here is Elka's design she had worked on the night before.

Babushka ready to roll.

She rolled it!

And rolled it!!
And rolled it!!!!

Finally a beautiful cuddly Babushka Doll.

Awwe and then wiped out, I think from all that rolling?!
I hope you have all had a bit of fun lately doing something crafty xx

Inspirational Wednesday's!!

Hello out there! I thought I'd start sharing what's inspiring me each week! Cause it's that time of week when you need a bit honey to get you through the rest of the week, don't you think? Soooo I just picked up my copy of Dumbo Feather. Such a great mag if your not familiar with it check it out! They interview very inspiring and interesting folks and share their stories. I find it so inspiring to hear other people living their passions, their truth and being brave and courageous to follow what they believe in. Now this brings me to a very, very interesting interview with Brene' Brown. She talks about her amazing research into people doing just that! People who live fully and wholly and who let themselves live vulnerably and creatively. Check out this cool TED talk by Brene',  she will explain it so much better than me and I think you'll really dig it!

Don't you love being inspired by awesome creative chicks!
I love it when it fills me up with I bit of hope that I can fullfill my dreams, even the ones no one knows about. Do you have those kind of dreams? The dreams you can't even say out loud because the ears that they fall upon may hold you accountable to carry out that crazy dream?! I may have a couple of those kind of dreams....maybe just maybe. The sharing of dreams and desires is a very personal thing isn't it?  They come from our hearts, from the same place we paint, dance, sing, cook, love......from where we create. Awwwe geeze I just feel all good inside!
Now I'll tell you why I'm banging on about all this stuff is because I'm reading "Conversations with Creative Women" by Tess Mcabe. I'm really enjoying it! It's full of practical advice and leaps of faith by real women doing their thing. I love that kinda stuff!!! Real people sharing their stories! You can get your copy here www.creativewomenscircle.com.au/p/conversations-with-creative-women.html

I leave you with another amazing women, Lisa Hannigan, she's livin it!! She is my new favourite!

Furniture!

Ok guys a lot has been happening and yes it has been a while between bloggidy blogs! But check out what we've been up to! I've been scouring and collecting some cool pieces for the store. So I thought ya'll might enjoy some before and after shots!
I had been searching for these scrolled cane chairs for awhile because I think they are just gorgeous! They remind me of summer holidays, boho cool, sun bleached hair and lusciously tanned skin! Every time I sit in them I feel like reading a book and sipping iced tea. Oh! how refined I am!!

So here they are before....

And after.....

This last photo is a bit dark (my iphone photography needs work!) but I wanted to get a shot with the Marigold Flower Rug by Armadillo & Co as they make a great ensemble!

Here's some more babies I picked up that are currently under refurbishment.

You'll just have to wait to see the finished product!
Signing out xx

Pallets Pallets Pallets!!!!

When I was gathering ideas for setting up the shop I got a little Pallet obsessed. I wanted my counter to be made from pallets. And nothing was going to stop me!!!! Every where I went I saw Pallets, I was veering off the roads, I was picking them up off the side of the road, I was peaking through wired fences trying to figure out a way to snavel them. I was on a Pallet mission!!!
But it was worth it, the counter turned out really well and it can be a bit of a conversation starter.
During this Pallet fever my friend discovered this clever lady and her website. http://www.studiomama.com/index.html
Nina Tolstrup is a designer of some pretty groovy furniture but also you can download some really fab instruction manuals for pallet furniture. I have the Pallet Chair manual, I plan to make a couple for out the front of the shop. I'm also digging the lamps, how great are they!!!

  But wait there's more.........

Lucky last is my Pallet Counter!....

Whew! Now that I've got that off my chest.....Ha!
Has anyone made anything out of Pallets? I'd love to see what you've done.
Catch you later lovely folks xxx
